Nia is a fusion of fitness practice based on a variety of movement forms with joy as its guide. With the chemistry of the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts, Nia delivers fitness through putting strength, endurance and flexibility into one complete sensory package. Nia is holistic: it addresses not just the body but the entire being. Nia uses imagery to inspire movement and to heal the body, mind, emotions and spirit. All Nia classes are open to all levels. Nia instructors guide those new to Nia how to perform Nia’s easy-to-learn movements “in real-time.” No previous experience, dance or otherwise, is required to take a Nia class. Wear any comfortable workout clothing you’d like—including yoga clothing. But realize that Nia is aerobic and you’re going to sweat. So don’t dress too heavy!
